Dr McCardell is a psychotherapist, counsellor, clinical hypnotherapist and clinical supervisor working with those who want to change their lives in fundamental ways. She sees this process as intrinsically transformative. This work is collaborative.

Some of the problems she works with are feelings of depression, anxiety, panic attacks including those associated with going to the dentist or preparing a medical procedure, post-traumatic stress disorder, sexual abuse from the past, despair, grief and bereavement, chronic pain and terminal illness, sleeping problems, smoking, relationship difficulties, exam stress, etc. Personal growth work and clinical supervision are also available.

She primarily works using a integrated psychotherapeutic approach, though she is  shaped by the specific training she's received in the psychodynamic schools of Jung and Freud, family systems, Narrative Therapy, Gestalt, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Counselling, Bridging Attachment Theory, Meditation Techniques, as well as Eriksonian Clinical Hypnotherapy.

She has  an extensive background in teaching, research, and counselling, as well as a long association with mindfulness practices.

Individuals and couples are welcome to come for sessions. Each session is one hour in duration, though longer sessions may be negotiated. Relaxation sessions are also available. Online sessions are also available.

Elizabeth  is available 9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday. Other times may be negotiated.
